The strategy for drivers with those Eastern European companies that steal from drivers is to have an exit plan at the moment you accept the job.

That means have money for Uber to hotel, then money to fly at home whenever necessary.
On the service, they say they love drivers and will do anything for you . To understand this psychology you have to get used to the Soviet Union society. they pretend to love drivers but in reality, they don't care about drivers and view them as equipment to be disposed of at any time.
You Drivers, must also develop the mindset that these companies are nothing more than tools to be used and discarded at your leisure.

Take the emotion out of it, and you'll be able to avoid being used as a dumping ground by those predators' company..

How about just not working there at all?
Sounds like a better plan to me.

All these years I thought the whole idea behind have a job was to make money ..not spend it to get away from your job

Having money to get back home is called being prepared .
What if the truck breaks down ?
What if the company goes bankrupt and leaves drivers with no fuel card ?

I don't disagree with that ..just like you said it's called being prepared
But the way I read the OP was when you start at job at 1 of those places
Like someone else posted .. why even go for a job..That was my thinking also

I agree with what everyone has posted so far...why take the job at all?

It's kinda like beating your head against the wall because it feels good when you stop. Why beat your head against the wall in the first place?

Unfortunately they also hire from the bottom of the barrel with all the idiocy their drivers constantly exhibit.

    sucker born every minute.

    What is the issue?

If Barnum does it, its ok, but if a foreigner does it, its not? Eastern Europeans didnt invent the game. They just really good at it.

These Eastern European companies are bad apples, it's hard enough just trying to understand them on the phone, I just departed from one about 2 weeks ago because they promised me I could run the areas that I like and come to find out they want to put me in an area I absolutely hate which is the Northeast, they promised me I could be home every other weekend, then boldly asked me on day one if I can run 800 miles a day and go home maybe once a month (lol) everything they promised me while I was at home seemed good until I got in the truck, then it's a whole different ball game everything that they promised you is out the window
