Good luck with the health issues my man. Glad to hear the back issues are treatable, and hopefully the bladder stones won't cause you too much agita. Is that the treatment where they basically shatter it with ultrasonic sound?

A perfect example of the utter dysfunction in operations.

My last trainee comes out of hometime today. Bobtail to Ardmore Ok to grab an empty. No empties. 80 miles.

Then bobtail to San Antonio to get an empty. No empties. 385 miles.

Then bobtail to Longview Tx for an empty. No empties. 365 miles.

Now bob tailing to the WM yard. 356 miles.

If they just bobtailed him from OKC to the WM yard, that would of been 460 miles instead of the 1186 miles.

How can a company not know there isn’t any empties at not one, but three DC’s?

I just hope there’s either a load or an empty sitting at the WM yard when he gets there.

I am generally of the opinion that I'll drive wherever as long as I'm paid. So driving bobtail all over hell and creation looking for empties that aren't there...I'm still getting paid.

But man, it just mystifies me that we don't know where our empties are. Aren't those things expensive?

There are two things about this company that have baffled me from Day 1, and that's one of 'em.

Though I agree that we are getting paid. The thing that upsets me is the lack of operations not knowing where empties are. Or loaded ones for that matter. I have a 10xxx trailer now that has what looks like a tracking thingy up on the right top corner of the trailer. Hopefully this will step in for operations when they step out.

I fought this battle at Schneider two weeks ago. Their system (and our driver app) might indicate five empties, but when you arrive they’re all loaded, and you send in the appropriate macro saying no empties.

But then they send you the last DVIR of one of those trailers, basically reiterating that there IS an empty there. And that’s when I go off, telling them in all caps that I looked at that and other boxes and THEY ARE ALL LOADED.

I’m pretty sure they’re all going to the same training facility.

I picked up a empty out of the knight yard in Orlando, that had 2 printer's of osd on it,could have easily put them on the truck, abilene acted like they didn't know.

Last time I came out the house they sent me to get an empty from Wilson,no empties,I was like how do they not know.

They use to send me home from the yard, with a hill phoenix to drop in Wilson, now they bobtail me,because they don't want the trailer to get 'lost'.

Also the planning here sometimes leaves alot to be desired.
