Maybe a ridiculous question but I love collecting tools and hate paying someone else to do something for me when usually the tools are just a little more then what they shop would charge.
As for HP tuning what software is used on various engines.
I'm not talking about factory software, we have a local guy who can tuning about every engine brand but won't give out any info as to his software, where can I find and who manufacturers such software?

You are talking about factory software, since that’s what you need to make the changes.
-
Are you talking about just uploading programs to the ECM or actually making custom programs yourself?
99% sure you need the manufacturer's software to reflash the ECM. As to actually making custom files, I can't help you there. That's something beyond what I do on a daily basis.spsauerland Thanks this. -
I don't know that you can tune any of the heavy duty engines without the factory software. They've got them pretty locked up.

Making GOOD tunes is huge undertaking sir............Without your own dyno its nearly impossible

Gotcha Yeah that will work too Alls im sayin is doing good tunes is more then knowing how to change numbers in calibrations

Don't forget you'd need a test engine or test truck. Be prepared for it to go Ka-pow! if you adjust something too far.
