The aluminum sheet panels used for truck and trailer body is different grade then the stuff used for tanks and wheels. It is more porous and has to be sealed if not painted or it will stain and oxidize easily. Notice how most sheets have a like military green shade coating on them on the back side.

Wheels are forged so they have a harder surface that resists stains a little better.

Stainless will hold up and keep shine with no maintenance. That is why any shiny hiney trailer is stainless. Aluminum will look like crap in no time if it is not clear coated after you make it a mirror.

I thought the X fenders were stainless. But I could be wrong. It may be some aftermarket fenders I seen at 4 states that are stainless

You may be right. That would explain the hazyness of fine scratches i’ve seen in some going down the road. It is hard to buff stainless without leaving the fine scratches that make it look cloudy.

Sometimes best to just leave it alone cause it looks worse after.

    Boondock and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Ok I gotcha now .. like @wore out said more than likely it's the start of Is corrosion.. do like he said & like I suggested earlier spray vinegar on like it sit 30 min wipe it off and sand start with i00 then 1000 or 1200 girt paper .. and then.polish
You do know there is a 3 step process to polishing to achieve what your wanting
    3 different compounds
    3 different. Buff wheels
Take this from alot of experience. Don't mess around with those cheap ### buffing wheels and kits
Just buy the Airbuff wheels and the correct wheels & compound for aluminum
Google Air buff wheels and they have the correct charts to match everything up .
People think polishing is simple .. it's not it's time consuming and you need know what your doing otherwise you end up with a shiny piece of blued scratched up junk

The swan hood Ornament mounted right front and center of your grill surround.. that will complete the look your after.

I’ve got some White Diamond sealer, from the guys that polished my wheels. If I get these spots off, would it be best and or prevent this again if I use it?

    Boondock Thanks this.

There’s a truck show this Friday and Saturday, at Perryville Mo and alot of folks I know (and alot I don’t) attend, who might think it interesting to see a bunk on dump. You wouldn’t believe how many folks have said, “If you’d take that gawd darn sleeper off, you could put an 18’ or 19’ bed on it”. Only the dump truck guys say that. It needs something done to it Er’where you look but it makes me money. My trucks are like my jeans, hat and shirt. I’m not and probably never will be part of the, “pristine”, “sound system” truck crowd at a truck show. Lawn chair, cooler of Busch, and a gray whiskered dog, that’s as far as I’ve made it.

I know that truck show your refuring too .. I usually try to go... but I won't make it there is year I got a full week of calf loads .. my interest is in the working trucks that are there.. not the pristine pavement princess that hasn't pulled a load since it was built as a show truck .. I have Zero interest in those trucks
That's no different than having a super model that lives in a glass case that you can't touch .. that you can only brag about and show her off
That White Diamond might be good to finish up with
