Now they use internal wet disk brakes. A bunch of friction and steel disks togeather in oil. There is a large piston and when you apply oil to that piston the clutches grab eachother stoping the unit.

Am a heavy equipment mechanic for a nickle mining company but ended up on strike a while ago. Have wanted my A for some time and will be doing school in 2 weeks. Have some buddies who have offered seat time. :biggrin_255:

Interesting. Now I have learned 2 things today, one from you and one from Rick, I can go back to bed. I should have thought nickel when I saw Sudbury as your home. Not a good time to be on strike with the economy being what it is. I was hoping to get on at Atlin or Iskut in B.C. just because I like the area but both developments are on hold.

Best of luck on your trucking.

Are they going North to towards the Nass and then East? Iskut isn't that far from Bob Quinn Lake.

Last time I checked you had to be liscenced for 2 years' pass the graduated liscence test and be a minimum of 18 years old, In alberta at least , you also have to pass a air course. Some other provinces may be 19 years min.
