My husband and I have decided that we want to do trucking together. I understand for myself that I will be going through training, but my husband already has a CDL. Last year October and December he has had 2 DUI on (his bike) that has been knocked down to reckless driving. In the state of Georgia how badly does this affect his chance of getting hired? Will he need to wait a year or more?

2 owi's in 3 months? First, thst needs to get taken care of. Getting one looks bad, then turning around and immediately getting a second. He's pretty much unhireable right now. Maybe in a few years, from what ive seen. Most companies say no owi in last 3-5 years.

Two DUI's in Georgia within two months and he's not in Jail? Must have had a really good lawyer.
Probation? Allowed to leave the state?Magoo1968, Bean Jr., CrappieJunkie and 1 other person Thank this. -
He is currently on probation and paying off the fees currently. He is allowed to leave the state as long as his probation officer is notified before hand. But they have knocked it down to wreck less driving.

On Probation = Not Good.
Maybe sometime AFTER Probation discontinued as well STOPPING ALCOHOL USE!! -

Reckless driving in trucking is serious.
Probably have to hire on with an OTR box truck company.

First of all, I am surprised ANYBODY is able to get one DUI reduced to reckless much less twice! This does not normally happen. Two reckless cases once the convictions hit the CDLIS get your CDL suspended for 60 days. The problem though is getting hired later. The husband has a drinking problem that needs to get fixed or he can kiss his Driving privileges bye-bye!

Okay, so We we’re able to get a report of the two charges and it was labeled “failure to exercise care.” That is the same as “wreck less” driving?

No need to mention drinking then. If you mention drinking he won't be hired.
