New 2023 T680, coax is RG 59, when checking swr with inline meter is it required to also have jumper coax RG 59 ? When checking power with meter, the needle on radio moves to red/ green point on meter, however when radio only is hooked to antenna coax, needle only moves about halfway when I key mic, any thoughts, also the lowest swr I can achieve is 2.2 , checked mount assembly, scratched off powder coating underneath plates ( like on previous T680) installed 4' firesticks, guess that is the best I'm going to get.

    Two antennas?

You should have 58 coax running to a splitter with two 59 coax to each antenna.

but the best solution Is to get rid of the two and go with a single antenna,

Hey Ridge, long time, the T680 has 2 antennas, and RG 59 coax joined together at pl 259 connector, this is my 4th T680 now since 2018 and have never thought to ask about jumper coax.

There is no T or splitter present.

Just having fun Wolverine, how about you?

So … got the picture … just tired from all the fun.

You can use a 58 jumper at the end of the coax, it should be 50 ohs at that point.

Ok thanks, any thoughts on why needle moves further on scale with swr meter incline, and not very much movement just hooked up to antenna coax ? Power meter shows deadkey at 4 watts, could it be tx meter needs to be adjusted ?

Don't know why I'm concerned, it's a stock Uniden PC78 ltx and have made contacts from Zephyrhills FL ( home terminal) to Plant city FL, about 12 to 15 miles, so it's working. Long story short, was on medical leave for 4 months, flew to Iowa to get new truck, stopped at first truck stop, and that is radio I bought, was just going to use it back to Florida, but have kept it incline.

Sounds like a keeper to me. It's talking as far as some of these over priced export radios.

    wolverine11 Thanks this.

My thoughts exactly. I previously owned a PC68ltd and PC78ltd ( indetical radios) but eventually sold them, the performance of these newer SMT radios is very impressive, even left stock.
