I a apologize in advance if this is not the correct place to post this thread. I recently bought a '13 Volvo 780 that has the Thermoking Tripac. The controller in the sleeper, I got the main power to come on. When I turned the fan on, it blew about ten seconds then everything just shut off. I can't get the main power on the controller to come on again. I checked the fuses under the bunk, all the ones that are in a try type deal under the bunk. All those fuses and the one in-line fuse that is there are good and not blown. Any idea what it could be? Not sure if the APU will even start. Previous owner said he only used it once himself so I am sure if I do get it working will need to service it - change the fuel filters and change the oil and filters. I appreciate in advance any ideas any of you might have.

Theres a few things it could be. First check to ensure the cables to and from the APU are all good. Second make sure the board is connected correctly. Next check the fueses on the unit and alt as well.
My advice however is to just take it to a TK dealer and pay a couple hours shop time to have them give it a good once over. The guy saying he only ran it once means either he is full of #### and knew its bad or it was broke when he got it and he just never bothered to fix it.Siinman and Metalicious Thank this. -
There is a big 50 amp fuse located at the top of the back panel in the outside unit. The original fuses are known to go bad and kill all the power. Doesn't seem likely that would be the problem if the unit really is as new as you were told, but I'd check it first anyway. The original fuse is a big blade fuse. It has to be replaced because vibration causes it to arc until the blade is burned away. Mine had one entire blade burned off and the fuse wasn't even blown.
If it's not that fuse, or if the fuse holder has already been replaced with the round upgrade then I'd take it to a TK dealer.armo and Metalicious Thank this. -
Well, I think I found the issue. The fuse holder is kind of melted onto the fuse. Lots of corrosion on the fuse blades so much so that one side of it, the hot side was broke off in the fuse terminal. Haven't gotten to digging that broke off side out, primarily because it's still hot. But probably need a new fuse holder too. No damage to wire to or from the holder I can find. The replacement fuse and holder is a completely different design and doesn't fail like the original. It is pricey though. I think it was about $175. There are videos on YT showing how to install it.
