Long beds are for working, short beds are glorified grocery haulers.

I have an extended cab grocery hauler.
    With a shell no less.

    Thats Sharp.

I've had a few, but all sheet boxes. Dad had a 76,81,86. I just rode around standing on the seat with no seat belts. Learned how to shift a 3 on the tree in the 81. His were all nice. I had a 84 350 gmc 3/4 ton full time 4x4 retired firetruck. 9mpg if had right foot control. Still was a pile, but had a plow.

Mine is as well. No shell though.

The fact is, a crew cab, short bed pickup is really very practical for a family. Comfortably seats 5 adults, and easily bring home just about anything we'd ever buy for the house. 4WD with a little elevation for winter. I also prefer to sit higher for daily driving.

Looked a 4 door models. Didn’t have one in stock that we liked. They had this extended cab, it was packaged with all we wanted, so out the door it went.

I think I may be getting a little slow as I get a bit older. Load tie down and two tarps was just under an hour.

You ever go to the cruise nights at the A+W at the bottom of the Circ? Could swear I’ve seen that truck or one like it there. Three of us were down there one time waiting out an Autoport #### up and found that by mistake. Since then we all make a point of going if we’re there on a Thurs. Lots of nice older tin around in NS/NB.
