    So here it goes.

Fuel prices still up, available loads dwindling. I'm only grossing about 75-80% of this spring.

I expect rates and load #'s to drop, fuel to probably stay the same. It's just not lookin good.

I could sleaze on to another company if things get too bad. I also know I'm not an esteemed member of this place, new guy and all, and i don't want y'all to think I'm a mouth breather, but i've made the decision.

I'm gonna roll all my straps up on my winches.

Your probably gonna want one of these.
Light weight. Manual powered, so they work anywhere. Easy to use, even a tarp monkey could use it.

Just don't crash into the moon. I hear the fuel prices are worse there than here on Earth.

Space trucking ain't what it used to be or so I hear.

I just finally found a trailer 3 months ago that was in beautiful condition and more than fairly priced right when everything started to go to heck.

My old truck that I’ve been waiting to put on the road needs $25,000 in it to be roadworthy .

I made the decision a month ago to forget getting out on my own in this economy and not spend the months and cash to rebuild my truck right now .

I can go company man and pull drop and hook freight for $2000 a week with a reputable top notch company with new well maintained equipment.

I’ll run a lot of miles worry free with them this winter and bank some bucks than see what Spring brings to the table as far as the economy.

Leaving them on the winches is an eastern thing up here. We all have western habits from living and working out there. Winches are tied off and the belts are in the boxes. We go 6-8 weeks sometimes without using them anyways depending on the job phase.

I hope you have some terry cloth shorts. If you get hard up, I have a few lightly stained pair I could share. Can't help you on footwear though, I'm kinda professional these days and wear crocs.

That’s probably the best reason to leave them on the winches I’ve ever heard.
