So I'm terrible at keeping paper receipts bol etc.... I know I know bad idea. I know for tax purposes and records and u can file everything into a computer as a regional runner I'm doing about 4 to 5 loads a week and a couple of fuel stops etc... I want to store stuff to the cloud like one drive and I'm wondering how much space I would need for all the rate cons and etc.... thxs

For those types of files, you'd need a lifetime to fill up the free OneDrive. It's things like video that takes up a lot of space.

All paperwork gets scanned and put in appropriate folders. Backed up monthly. Paper gets put in folders and boxes. It’s important so you can also get your own analytics. How else would you know you are doing great or not, and how you can improve. Driving is not the main job anymore. Running the business is. You can do this! It is easier than you think, just get in the groove. As you get going you will end up spending less time doing your analytics and your account will grow. IFTA audit, taxes, FMCSA audit, etc.. stay sharp!

I use Trucking Office. You can upload documents, buy it costs extra. I don't use that service. I have file folders and banker boxes. You can keep rate cons in your email and put them in a folder, but my accountant has never asked for rate cons. You need to start record keeping immediately! I can't stress that enough, because it will turn in to an absolute nightmare if you don't. It takes me only a few minutes a day using trucking Office.

I use Mega. It's my digital file cabinet that I can access anywhere at any time. I also keep all the physical paper in very large real file cabinet in my office. Having both is the only way to go.

If you're not organized, it will cost you tremendously in the long run. Service work, parts, returns, warranties, maintenance, taxes, governmental agencies etc etc are a breeze to deal with and handle when you can easily look up paperwork for issues when they arise.

Thanks for posting about Mega. Trying to decide how much storage to get, any advice on what I should get?

Your welcome. Glad I could help. I've been using the default amount of 20gb when I signed up. I've been using it heavily for about 4 years and I'm a little over 16gb currently. Try it at the default 20gb and see how you like it. I love it and it helps keep Google out of my business a little more. I also dig that they're in New Zealand instead of the USSA too.
