You were correct sir. I ended up opening up them tabs on the side that still has the broke off blade and shoved a new 50 amp fuse in it. Topped it off with oil and fired right up. Only thing I had to do then was fix a little fuel line issue. Cut the section that was leaking and put a rubber piece of hose over the remaining two connections I now had. Rubber runs #### near the length of the line now. Fires right up and blows really good and cold. I was shocked. Will definitely be replacing the fuse holder though. And maybe that fuel line. I smelled a little something like burning rubber, but couldn't see the rubber hose hitting the flywheel or anything. So I may be about to lose a belt or something. Can't believe the guy I bought the truck from never bothered to try to even look at it. He'd rather idle the truck to its death I guess.

upload_2022-9-7_11-44-26.png Would the corrosion left in the terminal of the 50amp fuse cause this after it runs a few minutes? With it running and the truck off Watching voltage on dash I was at 12.7v.

Can't tell for sure but it would be my first guess. The heat that melts those fuse holders comes from arcing, which is caused by the fuse being loose in the holder. That condition could still exist.

Also, you thought your fan belt might be loose. I don't know about the older TK's but on the Evolutions the fan belt has to be really tight. But you should hear it squeal if it is too loose.

I think it's the latter. He didn't know what was wrong with it and didn't wanna fix it. Chose to idle the truck instead. With maybe $50 including the price of the prybar, scabbing the cracked fuel line spraying diesel with a rubber hose almost end to end and clamping it, replacing the belt I subsequently lost and really just squeezing a new 50amp maxifuse in over the broke off corroded blade left in the fuse holder it's running. And seems to be cooling quite well if I do say so myself. Rather than spend no more than what I did he just chose to idle the truck. And I am NOT mechanically inclined at all really.

if you change that 50a fuse kit my suggestion is to replace ground wire to.

I probably will, when I do replace the fuse kit. So far so good with it since I did what i had. Had a little issue with a condenser fuse blowing, one of those 20A fuses and put in a 25 and it stopped blowing them. Only concern I had is when I used the hear, it worked, but seemed to fill the cab with smoke. I guess maybe from not being run on heat in a long long time.

If you will have condenser fuse blown again then you will need new condenser fan.

I'll keep that in mind. I actually read on here from other threads about the apu that even thermo king says it should have been a 25 amp fuse instead of a 20. But to your earlier mentions, I probably do need to wire up another fuse holder and fuse and ground wire. And probably replace the filters soon, too.
