Hey guys, I gotta pull the water pump, and re-paint the rusty pipes. Anyone know what the sensor is on the lower radiator pipe?
Thank you, RR

I have no idea why they use it, it seems to be used on stationary engines but I had a few in my stock collection from a company I bought.RepoweredRookie, Rideandrepair and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
That sensor lets the ecu know if the water pump is flowing and how much it is pulling through the radiator. My old Pete has an optional old Stewart-Warner mechanical water pressure gauge in the dash. The old NH Cummins water pumps could make 25 psi in the system at rated speed and 8-10 psi at idle.

Probably for one of the heater cores. Good time to change all the heater hoses, new shutoff valves if needed. Add them if it doesn’t have any.
RepoweredRookie Thanks this.
