Walmart is on crack. No longer is this the 'premiere' job it once was. I drove for,Walmart from 2013 to 2018 when I had a shoulder injury and I couldn't get cleared within the time limit for LOA (later to find out I could have filed an extension). Now they're desperate for drivers and hiring/training WAREHOUSE people? They won't even consider me, or many others in my situation. YEARS of experience, FLAWLESS record both personal and driving/employment etc, and experience actually working FOR WALMART. They'd REALLY prefer brand new drivers over experienced former Walmart drivers? I'm happy to say I've found a job even better than Walmart ever was and certainly better than it now is, but not everyone is that lucky. Walmart has a large pool of former drivers who have experience, drove for Walmart, and WANT to drive for Walmart, yet Walmart wants to train newbies. This job is going downhill in neutral, foot off the brake...

Good luck to everyone, it really is (or was) a fantastic job that I truly loved and would have done anything to come back. It's really a shame that corporate (the hill) can't see the forest through the trees. I miss it terribly but being home every day, four on three off for the same pay is priceless, and no more 3.5 hour drive to work.

The slip seating always was a big turn away for me. I’m close to Hopkinsville and Olney.

I’m not understanding why you posted this? You haven’t worked here for 4 years. You have a new job that is better for you. Move on. What happens at Walmart doesn’t affect you anymore. Was your injury a work comp issue? If it was you probably got an injury settlement. Might be the reason they won’t take you back. Enjoy the new, better gig and let your bitterness against Walmart go.

I am on a 4 day break to watch Bengals in the Caesars Superdome, but I am thinking LYTX might be spelling the end of my 14th month run with Walmart Trans … what is a comparable job opportunity?

Depends on what you want to do. LTL, cryogenic, and some other tanker opportunities pay very well. Depending on where you live.
