They were reefers, but I didn't mean it as a slam type comment, more about how much I enjoyed it.
Not sure what McDonald's does in the USA, but around me they contract out the trucks to pull their trailers.
If there is money to be made at it, those would be great contracts to get.
Don't even need to wear a kidney belt, or wear gum boots, and slog around on a muddy deck with 130 lb chains.
I sincerely mean it when saying that any fast food restaurants should be a smoking good job.
Maybe a fleet of light duty KWs with paccar power, or volvos, hwy gearing, and give'er hell.Last edited: Oct 18, 2022

Every one of us are different. You can share your numbers or pricing strategies.
What I do isn't wrong because you disagree with it. -
My pricing strategy. Get the most i can for the places i want to goSiinman, God prefers Diesels, Rickp and 2 others Thank this. -
When Brandon raises the tax rate to pay for all his wasteful spending, and drives diesel up to $14/gallon, and tires double in price, it will be interesting to see who survives.
Midwest Trucker, Siinman and Ruthless Thank this. -
You words "Right now fuel is $1 a mile so add that to $1.71 and the base rate becomes $2.71..."
That's lying about your cost to yourself and anyone reading it. You can term it any way you like, cushion, whatever but it is not your cost as you stated.Siinman Thanks this. -
Siinman, MartinFromBC and Long FLD Thank this.

Dude.
If my base if $1.71. IF fuel is $1.00, base is $2.71. IF mileage is 1000, base goes up to $2710. IF tolls are $200, base is now $2910, multiplier for "supply and demand" cities is 1.25, other criteria here, and then I end up with the final BASE (meaning the lowest I would accept the load for) and I have something to reference when I negotiate.
I call about a load, broker says how much, I say base + 10-15% (depending on if I need a calculator or if I can do the math in my head), broker says that's too much (because that's their job) and offers a rate Or I offer a little less until I hit my base. I tell them that's all I can put in it. If we negotiate above my base, win. If I negotiate only the base, win. If I negotiate under my base...well, if I really wanna go to that location for some reason, I might take 10% less than the base. But that loss is taken from the driver's pay. -
You either have no discount on fuel or you're inflating your cost. Anyone reading it takes the cost as $1.00, which is not accurate as to your cost.
Like i said, makes all your numbers suspect.
I typed this really slow......Siinman and MartinFromBC Thank this. -
Or maybe he was adding a cushion for the additional cushion of fuel cost.Siinman, MartinFromBC and Oxbow Thank this.
