That paint scheme reminds me of the old Tom Inman trucks.

Now that you know this, you can prime it by pulling the suction line downstream from the check valve. Plug the vents, then apply air to the suction line and quickly remove. It’ll create a siphon when the air comes back up the line.

The slope that I parked the truck on wasn't that steep, but once I got under it, I knew exactly what happened.
The lines go up and over the transmission.
With the slope, and the right tank being lower than the left, and the "hump" in the lines, created a perfect scenario for the syphon effect between the 2 tanks and enough to drain the left.

Guess this truck will be staying on level ground from now on. That's the easiest fix. ;)

Just keep a 1//2 tank of fuel in it at all times you park it?

Need to run lines on a constant angle, upwards from tanks to the T. No high spots to cause a loss of siphon. Best if both are same length so the tanks will draw evenly. Even though they equalize, one can still run dry, while Trucks running, since it’s using fuel faster than it naturally equalizes through siphon and gravity. Someone must have replaced the shutoff with a T. Common practice, especially after having a problem with the valve. They also act as a return flow splitter. Unlike other manufacturers that use a gt flow splitter for equal fuel return to tanks. Bottom line, fuel may not be returning to tanks at the same rate. Mines acting up now. I like having shutoffs, not sure yet if I’m going to pay the big bucks for another shut off/return valve, or plumb my own T with shutoffs.
