If you work here long enough they give you a nice 2k mile 5000 pound no tarp load for the weekend! Or maybe I just got lucky. BFF88689-ADC6-4D53-9278-893C71A17D58.jpeg

I think I used that lucky option up for a while. When I first started, that seemed to be mostly what I was getting...lately though, I have been getting challenging loads.

With the border crossing deal we are part of...CPAT..or whatever it's called...do we still have to get an ACI?

We use an e-manifest going into Canada and an ace manifest coming out of Canada. I don’t think aci lead sheets are used anymore.

For all the talk about automated truck driving, I think the real low hanging fruit would be in automating the grocery warehouses and paper mills. That would drastically cut down on driver wait times.

I remember a beer distributor in St. Louis that was completely automated five years ago and visited the Dornbracht warehouse in Germany fifteen years ago. It was three stories tall and completely automated. The computerized movers looked like large Roombas and moved very slowly but never, ever stopped or took a break.

Tyson has tried some of the automation in a couple big dcs they recently built. The concrete floors were buckling and the automated lifts were running into each other and other stuff last I heard. Not sure if they got that fixed or not by now

at OG SSBs old playground, Crete/Shaffer, we do have a customer I know of thats like that Niagara Bottling (I've only been to the one near KC) but there's another location in California, anyway this shipper is 100% automated & when you call you're speaking to some outsourced Indian from who knows where but I will admit it was a very efficient, quick process (45min total), even your Seal & BOL is printed out by a stand alone kiosk like hut at the exit gates... I support hiring humans and realize & respect those are jobs but will say it was a surprisingly pleasant & faster experience than dealing with disrespect to drivers time ordeals we deal with at customers - & the warehouse was supposedly automated, when you back there were those yellow tight barricades (I've seen Coca Cola have this before) to make sure your trucks is perfectly aligned... this was a very light light load PU KC to Mid CA... Stay safe out there!

Kellogg's in Battle Creek had some automated forkbots, plus every lift was tagged so the office could see at any given time where everyone was...big brother made sure the union workers were doing their job I guess. And one of the Volvo/Mack parts warehouses in the northeast is totally automated...robots not only put the pallets away, they pull parts as well.

I had an employee that was sort of like a robot, I would say the phrase " there's work to be done" and he would automatically look for a place to go hide and sleep.
