GA resident looking for options to complete ELDT Training for electric brakes only. I have completed online theory and the road test, but this new ELDT is holding me back. Every school I contact wants to train in a big rig, but I don't need that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've never even heard of ELDT training for electric brakes. Do you need it in order to get your CDL? Is there some sort of restriction in Georgia? The only ELDT training that I know of is the Class A theory, and the HAZMAT theory.

GA requires it for a CDL Class A with air brake restrictions and I can't locate anyone offering it. Even willing to travel out of state.

Ah, I gotcha. I'm in TX. We don't have anything for electric brakes. It's just an air brakes restriction. Even if you were to go with like a Class C, would you still need electric brakes? Is electric brakes a certain written test that you to take? Or is it just like a training course that you have to take?

It's a Class A for the weight and they offer the air break restriction for driver's not using air breaks. There just isn't a FMCSA training location that I can find offering that training to get signed off on the new ELDT stuff that is now required to get the license.

So you can't get your CDL with just the air brakes restriction? I've never even heard of having to have electric brakes on a license before. I've looked all over the internet, on Georgia's DMV website, FMCSA's website, and nothing anywhere. I can't find anything anywhere talking about having to anything related to electric brakes for your CDL in Georgia. Not even a training course.

You can always take the full class A ELDT training, and when you test in a vehicle without airbrakes you'll get that restriction.
