I’ve heard all sides of the argument. Health and life expectancy also needs to be considered. Everyone’s situation is different.

If your taxable income was over $75k single or $150k married you didn’t qualify for the stimulus checks.

I qualified but never got that last stimulus check. I guess it didn't matter because it got deducted from taxable income on the next filing.

    Beaver9 and Siinman Thank this.

So in 4 years when (if) I'm 67, minimum retirement might well be 72+, and the "sweet spot" will, as usual, be further away. Like chasing rainbows, yes?!

Being the economy is "strong as hell" shouldn't they lower the retirement age for a program that's similar in nature to what bernie madoff went to prison for?

    Beaver9 Thanks this.

For me it's 68. It changes. It depends what year you were born.

Well considering the fact that our government is sending billions to other countries like Ukraine, I think to not expect more from them seems a little out of line. Times are about to get tough for alot of folks.

    Vampire and RJM1953 Thank this.

Compering the strategic interest of the country on the foreign affairs arena with a plight of a special service segment of the economy such as transportation is impossible to settle.
If I understand it correctly, they are receiving weapons and ammunition, which is not exactly the same as receiving cash.
They are defending their own country against a ruthless and bigger agressor, therefore helping them does not seem to me so out of line at least on moral grounds. Whether this country can afford it or not, is a subject for another debate.
Giving away money to weaklings so that they can buy fuel and make payments on their overpriced equipment loan installments should not be even up for a moral debate.
