Hello all. I’m in central Illinois. I only have 5 months under my belt with 3 of those months being solo. I did get rookie of the month this last July (probably doesn’t matter here though). I’m looking for a regional gig if possible. I am a Veteran, 8 years Marine Corps Infantry, honorably discharged, and 10 years of overseas high threat security consulting. I’m trying to slow down on my deployments and break into a new career. Yes, I still currently work overseas most of the year. 60-75 days overseas and 30-90 days home (rinse and repeat). Unique scheduling to say the least. Most companies I’ve talked to have politely declined, with only the mega carriers saying, “we can work with that, you’ll just have to quit and rehire every time.” Currently working with Schneider as a dedicated driver (meh, not good or bad) and deploying as a security consultant. Finding a good match is hard to say the least. Convincing the wife is another. Please let me know. Thanks.

    1. I’m just outside of Peoria.

    2. I used to have an MRAP license. The gen 1 and gen 2 6x6s and 4x4s. 2008ish - 2012ish. HMMWV license too. One of those guys that was voluntold to get them… They’re all super expired and lost…

What direction from Peoria? We can't hire from there, but we do hire from Galesburg across in an arch toward Chicago. We just don't have the customer base in central IL to get folks home... but Galesburg on up = weekly home time. If you live to the NW of Peoria, we'd probably be able to work something out.

As for the MRAP thing, technically not like-type. But once again, it all depends upon how this could be worded for insurance. You might need another stint driving at home for us to be able to work with you, but we'd look at the part-time route, and placing you inactive each time you head back out (prevents missed random screenings). Part-time drivers make the same pay, they just get no benefits.

Galesburg is about an hour west of me. I live just on the east side of the river. Washington. No benefits is okay, I have the VA and my wife still has tricare, so we’d be covered anyway.
