Looking for an all aluminum 53 cali low pro. Won’t be hauling a lot of weight. Who makes a trailer with the beat features/package? Fontaine revs look good. Anything else to look at?
Cats Meow of low pro steps???

I've got a '20, 48' Chaparral II. It's fixed spread, all apitong deck, can locks, 12" crossmembers, 90k GVWR tares at 10,400 before equipment. It's been flawless for 3yrs now. Actually today the Right Weigh scale gave up the ghost.. lol
I've heard the build quality can be hit or miss with these Doonan's, because of personnel retention at their factor, but I'm happy with mine. The j-plate stops need spacers added imo, but other than that, no complaints.. With that said, I would look hard at the Wilson's. They make a fine looking wagon too..
@DeereRunner97 has a beautiful 53' Mac
@pavrom has a fine 53' Reitnouer conestoga
Edit I type slow lol
Maybe they can jump in?Another Canadian driver, cke, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 1 other person Thank this. -
I love my MAC. Everyone told me “you’re just paying for the name.” I don’t think so. It’s been a great trailer, built very well. It’s not your usual MAC set up because I’ve had a very hard time finding another one just like it.
It’s a 10’ upper deck, 43’ lower, 16” KP. 27” main frame, cross members every 12” with the extra knee braces. The air gauge is up by the airline connections. It sits at 39” in the middle of the arch. It’s taken a lot to take that arch out too. My trailer did really good with the Bridgestones, wore them great.
I have a buddy that has two tri-axle low pro Extremes. They are nice wagons, but they sit way to low to the ground at the transition from the upper to the lower. That’s where the tool box is too, I would be awful afraid of ripping a tool box off, not none of his drivers have.
Hope that helps. -
LOVE my Great Dane 51’. I haul light and it is as smooth as a rock. Can locks, slider, 10 upper 41 lower
