Cat skid steers have been 12 volt for the last 15 years for sure. Most larger construction machines run 24 volt systems. I'm guessing since most of it is built overseas now.

When I drove a tow truck (6 wheeler) years ago, we use to jump start VW bugs (6 volt battery) with our 12 volt jumper battery. But, it was a very quick connection, not a minute grinding on the starter.

    I have one of these
Had dead batteries once and the TS wanted $150 to hook up
Car hauler pulled in next to me and let me use his. It was a little smaller but jumped my truck no problem
Last week another driver asked if I’d jump his truck and I hooked this up and 69 seconds started his completely dead truck

The only computer controlled thing in those bugs was the little lever to open the heat vent by the drivers foot.
A human computer that isn't subject to higher voltage.

I wonder if the NOCO would sense the 6V system in those bugs?

Previous employer had a ‘jump box’ that was supposedly 18 volts. Used it many times over the years I was there, Pete’s, KW’s, FL’s all were introduced to it, never fried anything.

My 2018 Cascadia had jump start posts on the tractor frame under the hood between the right steer tire and the firewall. I would think the best way to use one of those jumper start carts is to turn EVERYTHING off inside the truck, or use the battery disconnect switch, connect the jumper device and just let it charge the truck battery for a few minutes and then when you can't wait any longer try cranking over the truck engine. The truck batteries won't mind having 24 volts applied to them, I don't know if the 809 computers in the truck will like it or not. To me a truck is just a tool, not a work of art, or delicate instrument, or a statement about me to the world. I've only been a company driver. If my truck was stolen or burned to the ground I would just ask for another truck.
