I would like a dollar for every driver that told me a cop ordered him to drive over a car that was illegally parked. Whoppers come from both directions.

Even in writing it's just some words one guy said and another guy believed. "But drill sergeant, my recruiter said I didn't have to get up before 8am." A recruiter is a car salesman and most car buyers hear what they want to hear and translate what the car salesman suggests into an air-tight guarantee. Unless a driver is prepared and willing and follows through with a lawsuit the company is not going to pay one driver more just because a recruiter said "you could earn UP TO X CPM. 0-X is contained with in the "up to X CPM."

Sacramento-based Capital City Cargo advertises a $90,000 per year starting salary. These people should be jailed for fraud.

I just get frustrated with the whole thing. I am in the middle of a three month process trying to pick a new company. I’ve Picked up on a clear and distinct pattern with these recruiters. They all cite off all these benefits and what your pay is gonna be and the signing bonus you’re gonna get etc. etc. So then you apply and you send over your application and they send you over a “contigency” offer of employment. The contingency part makes sense because until you go through their steps and hiring process, you are indeed contingent. The problem is the contingency letter is extremely vague and never lists anything about what they promised you. So they kind of trap you into following through their steps. Bait and switch. After you go through all their steps, (time invested) often times what they’ve told you changes. Lol the latest I got was “oh we’re no longer doing the $5000 signing bonus”. Well you told me it was being offered to me two weeks ago when I started your application process. They think I’ll still continue through because I have time invested in their process. Nope. I have standards and I won’t alter from them. If you lie to me before I even drive a mile for you? I’m out. Consider yourself dumped. Lol

another company that I narrowed it down to, has me drive three hours to their location to do my test drive. The guy conducting my test drive thought he was a driving instructor, instructing a brand new driver. Literally as soon as I sit in the driver seat he tells me “go ahead and put your seatbelt on sir“. And then next it was, “go ahead and turn your lights on after that and then we will use the four-way flashers“. I bit my tongue and was thinking “yeah I was about to get to that like I always do, for the five years that I’ve been out here driving“. Lol…but ok, this is how he does things….

so after that they give me a piece of paper to go get my drug test and physical done at a location that’s an hour and a half from their yard. I drive over there and the place is closed down and isn’t opening up until Monday. So these guys proceeded to waste an entire day of my time and then I’ve still got to drive all the way back home. I sent a message to the recruiter letting him know that the clinic they had sent me to consisting of six hours of round-trip driving, was not open. Complete with a picture.

There’s just so much time wasting, nonsense, redtape crap that goes on in this industry of blows my mind. For those other drivers out there going through job changes and so forth, I do not pity you. It is an absolute circus right now.

So given this OBVIOUS recruiting video, here's what Variant Recruiters think is a winning sale pitch: Do you want the freedom to be an unprofessional piece of #### while getting paid as much as 30% more than some actually professional drivers who just shut the #### up and do the #### job? Join Variant today!

MagnumLTL lists every linehaul driver job as $90,000.00 per year and the driver does not get paid for drop and hooks. They however do pay $10.00 for fueling once a night. The position I had was 360 miles a night. I watched the drivers from Minot and Bismarck put together long doubles, break them when they got to Fargo, and hook another set and break them when they got to the home terminal, all just for mileage pay. www.drivemagnum.com
