I’ve had the truck about 7 yrs but I just started back driving it 8 months ago & no I don’t have a reserve bc fuel went to $5.00 a gallon as soon as I returned & the rates have been ####! So maybe it’s time for me to exit the OO side I’m not sure just yet

Siinman, Rideandrepair and Diesel Dave Thank this.

If it looks like a dog, and it sounds like a dog, how bad do you have to get bit before you believe it’s a dog?

Siinman, Rideandrepair and JoeyJunk Thank this.

Might be helpful to give the details on the van.

Just went down the rabbit hole reading your ordeal. Rough story. Hurt reading the downward spiral. Lesson is if fuel and expenses are driving hard into your profits. You do not turn the keys. You don’t. If you’re leased on, you tell the boss to get to work and figure out some new leads. Once you figured out a battle plan where the math is honest and looks good, you then turn the keys. We all get curveballs. It’s trucking, it’s hard. If it takes a few weeks/months to finds some business prospects, it’s ok. Almost every industry goes thru issues, loss of sales, and new business inquiries. If that’s a bit much, it’s good to partner up with a trucking outfit that got things sorted.
