Well Fremont Folks and thread junkies, after 34 years I’m parking the truck. I’m in Council Bluffs to turn in my truck and fly home. I’ve encountered too many untrained children and others whose dangerous habits are not something I’m willing to risk any longer. The last 30 days on I-80 “my main route” has been horrific. No plans, no job, but a long honey do list and lots of critters and 10 acres of Alfalfa to tend to. Be safe y’all, and anyone looking for a driving gig, they don’t get better than FCC.

An extra $1000 a month. That is only $250 a week. Should be easy to do as a company driver.

I really can’t blame you, this industry has gone in the gutter the last several years. The old hands are retiring, the new breed of truckers is a freaking joke. Too many flip flop wearing, self centered morons out here. If I could afford to walk away and do something else I would.

I can’t count how many “professional” drivers I see out here anymore, playing with their phones, feet on the dash, watching movies on their tablets.

I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Thanks. Twice in the last 3 weeks if I wasn’t on my A game I would have been involved in major accidents. Sadly reality says I can’t always be on my A game anymore.
