You did get the memo to take two trailers and load my 12’2” wide load out of there going to the same place? Right? Of course that decision was made this morning and now snoqualmie is closed and they are chaining over stevens. Good thing I’m not loading until the morning.

    Lonesome and dwells40 Thank this.

They should have double decked some trailers and I would have had it ready for ya. Wallace and Lookout will be under a winter weather advisory after 4 pm today. Expecting 3-5".

Does Bridget wait until the driver gets loaded to send permits? Haven't even sent me my WA, ID or MT permit and I would like to be in MT by this evening if possible.

    dwells40 Thanks this.

You might send her a text. Usually we have at least the first permit before we load.

Well, I did my good deeds for the day. Was rearranging my side box this morning and I kept hearing the sound of a newer trucks traction control air valves. A Landstar was trying to pull out of his spot here at the Spokane Petro and couldn't get moving (his trailer brakes were free, he just got done releasing them with a hammer)...so I grabbed my shovel and scooped up some ice melt I always have during winter and threw some down and he got moving. Then, the bobtail next to me had the same issue...another scoop and off he went. Then a couple of inexperienced drivers that "aren't from around here" were also having trouble, so 2 more scoops and a brief explanation on how to rock and AMT out of the snow(in a professional tone, not a sarcastic one of course). Maybe karma will pay it forward and give me a break for the rest of the year.

What states require extension mirrors and for what width?

Any state it says were visibility required. Washington Idaho Oregon Montana And Wyoming are all kind of sticklers for it. Missouri also requires it but rarely enforces it my experience. The only time I really put them on is when I’m coming to the Northwest.
I’ve never seen a specific with where you have to put on mirrors. What I do is stand at the back of the load looking down the side to load and if I can see my mirrors I don’t put them on. And that’s only when I’m coming to the Northwest.

In my experience the rest of the country could give two ####s if you have mirrors on or not I just wiggle back-and-forth, let the signal blank three times and go for it if I’m changing lanes.

Once you’re wide enough to where you really need mirrors, in my opinion, you are usually with escorts anyway.
