I wonder if the heavy haul driver was allowed to continue to the intended destination.

Got lucky ... lots of states are 20 cents per lb if you are that overweight, plus fees and accessorial charges.

I think Arizona is 1400 plus 100 bucks for each 1,000lb over 80k, and I know for a fact they can and will void your permit and stack on the largest fine possible just to be the pricks they are down on Interstate 10. Don't exceed 55mph in Arizona with a permitted load, you will not get a "speeding ticket" you will get a revoked permit and the fines associated with whatever isnt legal over the standard 102 wide and legal axle weights up to 80k

When you buy a new permit. As for Georgia they would escort him to the nearest safe parking and he would sit until morning and he could obtain the proper permit.

I just looked at the ticket. Georgia will not issue a permit for that weight with that setup. So they are going to be forced to unload it and find the proper setup. Sucks to be them.

4300 dollar fine? They got off light.

@mjd4277 ...if you don't mind I'm going to move this to Heavy Haul. They'll get a kick out of it.

Anyone remember the guys who tried to do that and got nailed at the Wisco scale on 94? I seem to remember the fine being an order of magnitude bigger.
