I drive a lot of CA usually run 62 to 64 i do keep an eye out. Around towns 58 or less depending on traffic. In 10 yrs I am still clean. I normally don't answer these questions because I just know it will jinx me but have been off driving for 3 months now and probably be another 6months before I get back so figure my bad karma will be gone by then.

I got a ticket out there 20 years ago. I didn’t pay it and I haven’t returned either.

Then you probably have a warrant out, if any LEO runs your drivers license, it’s bound to pop up in the system. Unless is a petty fix it ticket.

Oh I’ve been stopped numerous times since by other Leo’s, But that doesn’t mean that cal doesn’t have a non extradition warrant out. It was a speeding ticket. I figure it’s best I just don’t go back.

I, unfortunately, do run Cali alot (from i10 to bay area mostly) and I got a ticket in Selma on ca99 for 67. But I was dumb enough to get out in left lane at that speed. Since then I run 64 max and that's only if I can do it in the right lane. Except on ca99 (hate that road!) I stay below 60.

I really only do 57-58 mph to help drive down my IFTA mpg.. In CA I can average 10mpg going slow..Every other state I only get around 5mpg :)

The other reason is I haven’t had a ticket for anything in about 38 years. When I do get one I want it to be in South Dakota doing 99 mph..14 over..something I can frame and hang proudly in my house.

Can’t see myself telling the grandkids how grandpa got a 60 mph speeding ticket in California..would be too embarrassing :)

Without a compelling reason they do not typically pull over for within 10% of the posted speed limit. Because of Cali and CFR rules it is easy to get a less than 10% ticket thrown out if you show up at court. Within that 10% you can just plead your speedometer showed 55. Results may vary by jurisdiction and attitude of accused.

Over 10% they got you by the short hairs..........

    49 CFR § 393.82 Speedometer.
Each bus, truck, and truck-tractor must be equipped with a speedometer indicating vehicle speed in miles per hour and/or kilometers per hour. The speedometer must be accurate to within plus or minus 8 km/hr (5 mph) at a speed of 80 km/hr (50 mph).

This is why they had to change the CSA to 0 points for speeding 1-5 mph over.
