fortunately for myself, i have another source of income. on the other hand, i'm still looking for something else within the phoenix area. i am also willing to relocate. it's just a matter of finding something that i can live on without having to live in a trailer, or an apartment complex that caters to section 8 filth.livinlife Thanks this. -

Count yourself lucky. You have no idea what some drivers go through. Some drivers really get stuck. It's hard to get up and leave for various reasons sometimes and although they need a change and will find a change it takes time. OTR driving has treated me well for 8 of the nine years I have been out here. The last year was a disaster and I stayed longer than I should have. Theres some good companies and KNIGHT is NOT one of them. Knights resident cheerboy Bigblue is, knows, or has been a west coast driver like yourself and if there is a happy Knight driver he lives on the west coast. I have no idea why that is but Katy, Hutchins, Gulfport, Tulsa, Memphis, KC, Chicago, Indy, Atlanta, Lakeland and the other twenty terminals east of I-35 are another story. It's a combination of their 200 mile 48 hour delivery time junk freight, the promise of a "good one" afterwards, and not getting paid for things they offer in the first place. Layover, stop off etc. They will have you shuttle trailers for a day and pay you 20 bucks. NEVER VOLUNTEER TO HELP THEM IN ANY WAY. They know your going to quit next week anyways. Basically the driver suffers because there are no trailers, no parking at the filthy value terminals because of all the out service trailers and non driving employees that hate drivers, and themselves.
Call me what you want but off into the sunset I will go driving more miles before I stop to pee than I did in a week at Knight. Trucking is a good life and I love every minute I am out here. I bettered myself and anyone else can too. I express my disgust with these ###### so 1 drivers will know how good it can be and 2 so some people will pass on Knight. Which they have.NW Boogieman, livinlife and truckerdave1970 Thank this. -
For the life of me, I just don't understand your point. If you had it so bad and were ripped off so bad, why did you hang around? To see if they'd do it again next payday?
Furthermore, if it was so bad at Knight and you have it so much better wherever you're at now, why spend so much time rehashing the horrible time that you spent with Knight? Go enjoy your newfound bliss, that's what I'd be doing.
Look at CR England. How many drivers have they raked over the coals, only to have those drivers sing the blues to everyone that'll listen? But how many drivers flock to Salt Lake every week and sign on the dotted line? So don't think for a second that you're gonna even an old score.
I'm not a Knight cheerleader by any means. Sure, I've done pretty well here, and I really have no complaints. Are other drivers gonna have the same experience? Probably, just like some drives will have just the opposite. That's the way it goes. -
I had a speeding ticket and I quit the day that thing became three years old. If you have a clean record for the previous three years your options open up considerably. The first couple of years at Knight were alright. The final year is documented here. I roughed it out to get where I am now.

I'm glad that you found something better...good luck and enjoy it. -
