    Hi everyone!
    Hope you are all well, I have a question regarding Amazon delivery drive times. We’re looking at hiring a driver and putting a box truck on the road and want to crunch numbers to see profits and expenses. I use this example in particular: 31.93mi deadhead, 248mi trip, time is 7h and 30 min. Do deliveries usually take this long, when figuring up how long the total miles will take that’s about 3 hours for the trip, plus when looking up how long it takes to unload a truck estimated times for Amazon employees seems to be about 2 hours. So where does this extra 2 hours come in? Is this a time window that the delivery has to be completed in after picking up the load?

    Well, that averages out to roughly 83 mph, which in at least one state that I’m directly aware of is proof of what they consider to be reckless driving.

    Sorry, it comes out to about almost 31/2-4 hours. Is that more realistic?

    4 hours is 62 miles an hour average. Unless your pick up and delivery are directly off the highway, that's best case scenario. Any traffic? Any bad weather? Any two-lane roads that maybe have a 40 mph speed limit? Any stoplights in towns? Any fueling done during the trip? All of that will push the trip longer.

    This is really basic stuff, not even for a truck driver. Just anybody taking a trip in their personal car to visit family or going on vacation should be able to figure this stuff out.
