I am sure you know your market so it might be the best in that area. I would not touch it going out. That market seems to be pretty bad based on what you have been talking about on rates. I have only been in the area one time so I have no idea.

I know a few that took advantage. Adding Spouses onto payroll retroactively. Getting $80k in ppp money. I value my freedom. Others collected unemployment while continuing to run. They correctly predicted that there’s no way to keep track of any of it. It boils down to a big mess. Most of them plan on moving back to their home country to retire. Why they so openly tell me their Business is beyond me. I think I’d keep my corruption to myself. Different culture maybe? It’s usually your favorite neighbor that will rat you out based on envy, jealousy or competition. Best to keep quiet. Don’t brag about financial gains. No such thing as Honor amongst Thieves.

I don’t know man, I’m glad I didn’t touch it. I suppose one day they could forgive them but it’s still a loan. I think the only difference from a normal loan to the EIDL is 30 yrs to pay it off?

Edit: and to the people who defrauded the system, I hope they get caught.

That is the truth, I would never brag about doing a crime. In fact I got sent to prison because one of the guys that was with me folded. Now I don't blame him anymore, I grew up and understand my actions are the reasons I went to prison not his telling.

Yes I agree but with todays interest rates it would be a great option. I could use that money to build an empire for almost no interest.

I suppose so but I highly doubt most people sat on that money from then until now and not let it burn a hole in their pocket. And interest was next to nothing then anyway. But, I see your point.

Edit: I may be biased but I think slow and steady building of the empire is much more likely to sustain in the long haul. People make mistakes and more trucks just means larger mistakes before learning as you go.

Anyone sitting it out, waiting for rates to improve will be waiting a long time. Might as well quit now. This market is definitely bad. Not much worse than the usual bad spot market. Might be a slight backlash, but more likely a slow increase. I think many have underestimated the new entries. Many are experienced and knowledgeable. They’ll survive. It’s easier than ever to book loads, handle paperwork, and stay compliant. Everything can be done with a smartphone. Keep on rollin.

I don't disagree on slow and steady. I was more pointing out I would still have that money in my pocket for next to nothing to really put it to use. I don't care for government hand outs so I stayed away on that one. Like you I hope they burn the people that cheated.

I don't disagree. I think the older people that did not move with electronics will have a harder time on the spot market than someone willing to embrace it. This game now is all about understanding how the apps and load boards work. Knowing when to go higher to get the most out of those loads they bid on. This is only on the spot market I am talking about. The old school guys that have connections will be fine.

It’s no different than those who borrowed big money against houses, usually in one spouses name. Hid the cash, walked away from the house, filed chapter 7 . Bought another house with cash for 1/3 price. Like now, the Government has bigger fish to fry. They’re catching a few that make good headlines. The rest is swept under the rug. We all pay the price. Print more money, pass the bill along. It’s all wrong.
