Let's see, left the house around midnight Monday ( been on the zombie shift this week), headed up to Aurora, NE dropped and picked up a loaded trailer there. Then down to Pauls Valley, OK, then bounced down to Waxahachie, TX grabbed a loaded trailer to drop at the Council Bluffs yard, then over to Crete, NE to grab a loaded trailer going to Bentonville, AR. Then bounced over to Tulsa, OK grabbed a load going to Lancaster, TX. Then Waxahachie again with a load to Omaha for Monday morning. I needed to get home by Friday night for a farm equipment auction I'm going to Saturday morning, due to my hours and running nights I wouldn't make it home till Saturday if I delivered anything else, so I'll make it in around 3am Friday morning, got an early app Monday so I'll be leaving around 11pm Sunday night, running nights again next week, I don't do this all the time, it takes a toll, but it is productive. If I run something down to TX for a Tues delivery after Omaha, I'll still have a 3K mile week with 2.5 days at home. A little lower than I like, but with being home that long, not bad. A little more empty miles than I like too, but when I'm running these hours I don't complain because I know options are limited to be able to keep moving and not have to wait

I have a question for SWR peeps. Seen as you guys are home every weekend, how do you get around scheduling appointments for doctors or something? At least where I live, stuff like the city-county building, various offices, mechanic garages, etc, are closed on weekends. Obviously I don't need to go to the county building or get an oil change every week, but I'm just wondering how y'all schedule that stuff if you're on the road for the week.

Simple... I don't go to the doctor lol... no, seriously, if there's something I need off for during the week I try to make it a Monday or Friday if I can and just schedule it off like you would any other time off request. Usually I'll stay out a half day on Saturday the week before or after and burn my 70, Usually makes up for it

I very rarely take hometime on the weekend.

I originally wanted to go on to the SWR but the issue of always being off when stuff is closed pushed me to OTR. I've always told myself that I don't want to spend the next 40 years always away from home for weeks at a time, but I don't want a local job and work myself to death. I don't mind being OTR for a few more years but eventually I want something with more hometime.

I forgot to add to the above post that if FCC has freight and stuff to allow me to take weekdays off, and work through the weekend on occasion, if I were to switch to SWR in the future. I know one of the draws of regional gigs is you have weekends off. But seen as I'm single and don't have children, I don't necessarily need the weekend off. Even before this career change I worked every weekend. I almost always had Tuesday's and Wednesday's off during my old occupation.

You can take your home time any day of the week. Most drivers with families want to be home weekends. SWR use to be home every week but not necessarily the weekends. Are telling you every weekend

Picked up a broker load Tuesday in Greer, Sc, 6 pallets going to Omaha. Delivered that Thursday morning, and then bounced to Lincoln and grabbed a two stopper going to Utah. Vernal and American Fork, kicked those off today.

I will live load this evening in Ogden, going back to Shell Rock, Iowa for a drop on Monday. Then reload in Shell Rock going to Valley, Nebraska.

Pulled into the Petro near Kingman an hour ago. I will drop this load ASAP in Victorville tomorrow morning, then run down to San Bernardino for a broker load going clear out to the Chicago area. Since that load doesn't deliver until the following Friday, I'm assuming they will have me drop this in a yard somewhere.

Planning on taking I-15 north to SLC and then 80 east from there. I'm tired of looking at and dealing with 40 and my ears throw a fit going across the passes on I-70.
