Put my truck back in the shop this morning and it was done in a couple hours. I will finish up my 34 here at the yard and then hook up to a trailer going out to Four Oaks, NC. Haven't been out that direction in awhile so I'm excited.

Most drivers probably take 70/64/24 to 40 then down through the gorge, but I like taking 74/70/35 to Charleston and then the WV Turnpike/77 south. Only major city along that route is Indianapolis and it's actually shorter by a decent amount.

Anything I should know about the reciever in Four Oaks?

Nope, you can park on the street leading into the receiver, use both lanes up to the guard shack. I’m headed that way once my reset is up as well.

I was out there a couple months ago, easy and painless. Guardshack will direct you on where to drop and find your empty. Like runningman said use both lanes to guardshack, the guard will handle your bills there as well, don't have to deal with anyone else. When I went out there I reloaded in Henderson going to Belton,Mo (or the KC yard) it's a Mars facility so I'm guessing that's a normal reload for us outta there. Not my area but hope that helps, enjoy the change of scenery for a couple days

Dropped in plainview, tx getting reloaded in Amarillo, tx now to drop in CB tomorrow. Might have the shop take a look at the truck while I'm there, started throwing the stupid amber engine code light again, ugh! I think it's emissions crap again. Hasn't even been a full month since the nox sensor and that crap was taken care of. Not derating or anything this time (yet), hoping it's just something stupid and they can clear it. Really don't want to lose more time at Freightliner again.

Ok, something has changed in Safety. Anyone else getting calls or is it just me? (Totally possible it’s just me… lol)

So I get a message to call X or Y in Safety. (Ok, what did I do this time?) I call and was informed that our Trucks will now be reporting back to Safety if we are parked on an on/off ramp. So ya, I parked on an on ramp Monday (for 10-15 minutes… LOL) and that generated a call from Safety. Wasn’t written up just being informed. I pushed back a bit thinking that’s getting a bit too “baby sitterish” (in my opinion anyway) but ya… our trucks will now report us if the cameras think we are parked on a ramp.

Not sure about anyone else, and I am more of a night owl vs early bird, but dang that is going to limit options for finding parking from 8pm to midnight… geesh.

Gotta love enforcing company policies that make the job more inconvenient. (I’m not anti “safety” but come on there IS a lack of parking options out here and I hate wasting drive time looking for parking in towns.) ugh.

Then I get another message to talk to Y in Safety between 3-4… Twice in a day? I’ve been a bad boy… lol

So I call at like 3:30 or so but it rolled to the receptionist… who before transferring me asked if I was Driving. (Well, yes… hands free of course) … she told me I’d have to Stop and Park and then call in. (WHAT???)

So I’m not going to “park” at a Truck Stop for a simple call and don’t want to risk getting delayed in line at a pump for a simple call… and, per above, on/off ramps are now no nos. So I drive 40 miles to the next Rest Area. Pull in and stop… call in… but… too late… Mr Y left at 4.

    LOL … geesh

so ya, trucks are reporting us for parking issues… and I guess we will now have to pull over (but not on an on/off ramp) to talk to folks in Safety… hoping it’s not for everyone at FCC.

Betting I’m the only one… lol

@runningman0661 … while I’m not “anti safety” in general… and depending on how this plays out going forward, this might be a good topic for the Drivers Council… both the camera issue and the calls… gives me vibes of the Driver Facing Cameras and Nanny Sitters.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the change in insurance companies? Better rates so we have to crack down on Drivers even more?

But sure… that’s always been the Rules I’m sure… lol

Yes this happened to me last week, I also think has to do with the new insurance company.

And we can get a Truck Wash monthly? More “news to me”…

I never knew what the time frame was. I get one occasionally thinking I’m saving the company money but hey, maybe I don’t need to be so stingy with the company cash… lol

I had to call safety last week over something, that was easily resolved after explaining it, but I get your frustration. I will say more and more companies are cracking down on parking on exit/entrance ramps, as a matter of fact at Landstar they referred to as “the sitting duck” policy. In orientation they told you upfront that it’s a fire able offense.

Trucking companies and insurance companies are terrified of “nuclear verdicts”.
