They must be having illusions of grandeur if they think they are going to be able keep the whole fleet moving and get drivers the miles they need in a more compressed area.

I’ve never been one to chase a dollar. I make what I need. My wife makes as much as I do. Our house is paid for. Kids are grown and out. The only “liability” we have is our Lab Ollie. Trust me when I say this, I heard many years ago, you’re only as good as your last load. Luckily for me, and with God’s watchful eye over me, I’ve given Abilene/Knight/Swift/Barr-Nunn/AAA Cooper/US Express and whatever else they bought since I’ve been here, 10 years of impeccable service, 100% OTD, accident free, ticket free and have never turned down a load.
I tell my wife every day, there is a perfect storm brewing at 1700 Willis Rd in Richmond, the economy sucks, trucking is taking a beating, and no one at the mothership took the initiative to pound the streets to get more freight. Yeah, we are owned by a multibillion dollar corporation that’s sitting on a ton of cash, but at the end of the day, how much bleeding can happen before the plug is pulled? Like I said, as long as what I have here and need in order to justify me being gone for 3 weeks doesn’t change, then I’ll finish here. But, if things really go down the crapper, I have no problem going someplace else, or just retiring a little early.jarhead0311, Lonesome, dwells40 and 6 others Thank this. -
And you know that pile of cash they are sitting on is for their bail out...not yours. Good luck buddy.

I mean this with all due respect, but they won’t miss you when you’re gone, there in lyes the problem with your company, my company, so many out there, it’s a societal issue “what can you do for me” when you’re done doing, they’ll fill that seat with a hundred other jammy pant, flip flop wearing drivers and tell them “we care”. All be it a completely different style of company I work for, but I’ve seen the same thing take place here in my a little over 11 years with them, @JohnBoy is smart enough to know his place and ride this roller coaster to the end if that’s in the cards. Dave Ramsey says, and I might miss quote “the roller coaster ride rarely hurts anyone, it’s those that jump off in the middle that pay the price”

Delivered my hp load in hazleton pa this morning then got sent down to north wales to reload going to ashland, va. Barely made it before they closed shop and went home. Ran over my 14 and had to pc to three different service plazas on the pike before found a spot. The second one I got stuck in for a bit because some somali/ethiopian driver parked right where he was blocking everyone in from getting out while he was inside eating some fried chicken….manager had to kick him out and he was stomping out giving everyone dirty looks and complaining, I just laughed, all I could do being I was tired and angry being over my 14 hunting a parking spot.
