I'm getting fade up! How do I get Dot to do inspection. I have my state dot, but they said that they cannot just do inspection on my truck.

You think they will do that, and can they do only the tractor?

They absolutely will do that, and it will be a Level 1.

Yes they can, if you only want tractor pull in a bobtail. Just have all ducks in a raw. Never know who you run into. Don’t expect they will do you a favor, expect being chewed.

And btw, I think no inspection is better than 100% out if service rate should that inspection didn’t go well…

If you're stuff is good and no violations, it'll help your safety rating also.

Vampire, Siinman and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

That's all they do if you request an inspection.

If you're in doubt about your equipment, stop by a TA or shop that does annuals, tell them you want a no BS inspection, then go directly to a weigh station / POE.

Vampire, Soltaker and Siinman Thank this.

By default, the CVSA recommended policy is to not do an inspection by request. That said, not all scale masters follow that policy.
