I Can Not Figure This Current Market Out Loads vs Trucks

I was replying to the guy who said owner operators run junk equipment my truck was a 1999 that I just sold a year ago when I retired these new guys have no clue what trucking is about. I have been through three downturn cycles and that is exactly what is going on and it will not get better until the next election. this new breed of so-called drivers are pitiful

And it’s funny because I will probably return to work because my customers call constantly because they can’t find anyone to deliver their specialty products on time

 

Well....if I may ask....what kind(s) of "specialty products" are you talking about?

Is this flatbed/OS/OW stuff? Or maybe something else, instead?

Hazardous waste and chemicals

 

I figured it was probably something top secret ...
Hey everyone X1 heavy is back !!!

 

Wasn’t always like that. I started in 1979 hauling beer for Miller and return load was paper products for Scott paper that was hand load and hand unload overtime. I got into hazardous waste and chemicals which paid triple what everything else paid and was constant even through the downturns.

 

Hmmmmmm.....my latest gig is hauling fuel (gasoline, diesel), & home daily.....but I'm just not sure if I'm ready/able to come all the way back out of my "safe space" yet.....to do hazmat waste and chems....

I did fuel diesel, fuel, and propane for a couple years in my earlier days. Once I started the hazmat and chemicals, I would be gone A week or two, but it paid very very well
