FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

This always happens after the shop greases with fifth wheel. The first trailer i hook up to, half the grease either gets stuck to the trailer, or winds up on the catwalk.

 

I'm not quite sure how hometime on SWR works if you come out on a Thursday. I'm getting ran over the weekend which is what I expected and honestly I need the extra money. But do I get the middle of the week off now? Or do I just work until next weekend?

 

I have never understood why a lot of shops grease the entire 5th wheel. All they need to grease is the back 1/3 on each side and the front area near the jaws where the king pin gets locked in. That way when the driver hits the 1st trailer, it spreads the grease forward like spreading peanut butter on bread.

 

It's pretty much how ever you want to do it. If you're wanting weekend's off you can work until next weekend catch a 34 at home and then finish out Monday and Tuesday pay period. Then repeat. Just let tim know how you want to run and he will try to maximize your mileage.

 

Pretty much gotta drop your air bags the first time backing under the trailer after the service to keep from getting grease everywhere

 

The grease monkeys do that so when the boss walks past,he thinks they're doing a great job. Lol
I have a heavy haul plate on my truck which has grease zerks on the saddles and on the linkage for both pulls.
They miss those every time.
But they coat the snot out of the plate .

But there is hope.
One young guy listened to what I told him and does it properly now.
I know he worked on my truck when only half the plate is greased. Win.....

 

Wash time .

 

I think Tim is on vacation or something. Every time I call his extension, someone else has picked up. Amber, Joe, even Tyson.

 

I'm a monster and drop my trailer before washing my truck. Even then I hardly ever wash my truck. I just don't see the point, it gets dirty in a day anyways.
