What terminal were you at? I've heard nothing about Yellow doing lay offs.

You’re not alone. I’m in a different sector, but, a contract carrier, just the same. I’ve been scrapping for work, for months, from every other contract I can. So far, I’ve been able to keep earning $1200-$2000 per week and be home most every night, depending on who I work for. For now, I’m staying put. I believe, I’ll land another contract, at some point.

I was headed home running west on 40 in NC yesterday and passed one pulling an old Roadway trailer going the same direction. Regardless how one feels about unions, I'm indifferent, I hate to see anybody lose their job. Even if what everyone says here about them being the lowest paying LTL carrier they're still a better paying company job than probably 90% of other jobs out here. Those are good jobs going down the toilet.

I agree with all you said and it's sad to see a 100 year old company slide down the drain .
..but the clock is ticking down.

I am not sure it is top 5 years but it sure is based on what you paid in your whole time, Hopefully you are right on top 5 and if so I will work my ### off when I get close to retirement and do better. Ha Ha

Seen that yesterday I believe. All it takes is to know someone in power to make stuff happen regardless if right or wrong. They have plenty of people in government is my guess.
