Speaking of shredded trailer tires, I saw a strange thing about a week or two ago. There was an Abilene Trailer sitting along the interstate heading the opposite direction. Just the trailer, no green tractor anywhere to be seen. There was a Loves/PFJ Tech Truck parked behind the trailer and all four tires were completely off the rear axle. Didn’t see any laying around or sit to the side or anything while one or two were getting fixed. Just a bare axle.
Maybe they sent the Driver to the local tire shop to pickup four new tires and having them mounted to the rims while the on-site Tire Tech took a lunch break roadside.
anyway, it all caught my eye.
Stay Safe!!!

Got empty at the Kroger DC in Salem Va Sunday night. And I might add, with absolutely no issues whatsoever. In 1.5 hours early, out at my original delivery time, and no lumper fee. Pretty cool experience at that Kroger.
Got a deadhead move the 58 miles down to the Wytheville yard to drop the empty reefer, no load assignment which I figured, so bobtailed up to the Pilot and went to bed. Anytime I can go to bed and not worry about getting up is good. I figured sometime in the morning after 0800 my QC and app would be beeping and ringing. But no, finally, after driving over to Dennys for an All American Slam, I had to call in. So at 0930 I called. My DM is on a much needed vacation and is sitting in Maui right now, so I’m free game for whoever answers the phone. Was offered Brooklyn, Newark or York PA for this morning. I took the York. It’s going to Starbucks DC. Been there before, nice easy unload. Right now I’m having breakfast at the Petro in Carlisle. Will head over for my 0800 appointment shortly.
This trailer I hooked to at the yard had an issue. All my top trailer lights weren’t on when I did my pretrip, but the bottom ones were. Fuse issue I was sure. Popped the hood opened the fuse box, pulled F23 and sure as heck, the fuse was blown. Got my 10 pound sledge out, torch, and assorted other tools and went to work. For a moment I thought to call breakdown and get a road call initiated, but my team player mode kicked in and I took care of the issue in all of 5 minutes. Glad to save this multibillion dollar company some money. Actually, I’m quite sure everyone in Richmond and Phoenix could give a rats arse. -

Not much change around here, really, as they've had an arrangement with Abilene to use our Richmond yard as a drop lot since before Abilene was bought by Knight-Swift. We've always had USX trucks and trailers on the lot as long as I've worked here. -
