Was told to take an empty reefer to BH Petersburg. As usual, this was simply wishful thinking from the load planner. The only empty reefer on the yard looks like it got into a fight with one of those yellow "don't-hit-me" poles. So I'm bobtailing out instead.

This picture would make a great safety PSA announcement. “When making a right turn, watch out for the yellow don’t hit me poles.”

The BH trailer that was supposed to be ready at 2:00pm will not be ready until 2:30am at the earliest. So I get to sit around and collect layover today and will hook it in the AM.

The trailer that was supposed to be ready yesterday at 2:00pm, only that was wrong and it really wasn't going to be ready until 2:30am, is still not ready at 7:00am.

This would be when I would call in and let the hierarchy know that I would be leaving after an uninterrupted 10 hour break.

Fortunately for my blood pressure, they wrapped things up about 10 minutes later, so I am now winging my merry way to Groveport.

Could you actually claim this time as resting hours, or as you are awaiting a load are you still "on duty"?

    Thanks

    Bumper Thanks this.

They're paying me layover for the time I've wasted on this load.

Our DM is the one who approves layover and detention requests, so if they agree that we have some coming, we'll get it.
