Mine was done way back and almost completely paid by Medicare. We had an excellent supplement policy thru my wife job, hence all was paid. Two things come to mind here. There have been great advances in eye surgery in recent years. The Doc was going for the high option, in surgery and money to his clinic.
I think of it like the hearing implant surgery. May be perfect hearing, but my Starkey aids allow me to discuss Wampum with tradesmen to keep my pants and wallet.
In one instance, I heard the attending/administering physician bills $4,000.00 for basically being the one of record for a chemo treatment. The Medicare allowance was said to be $1400.00. Now, tell me. If I am rich, have no insurance, which rate does the hospital bill me at.
Medicine; like costs of a decent politician, is getting of of hand.

 

So oncologist says you are one lucky dude still no nodes or any sign of cancer coming back. But there is a problem where when the did the cut and rotate and reinstall of the stomach that there just might be an issue at the top connection. Oncologist says that part is above his pay grade but get in touch with the surgeon ASAP. Tuesday have a phone appt with surgeon he can give a look see at the pet scan and decide whats what

 

Big storms with 80 mph winds just blew thru.
Took out a big tree which took down the lines which took down the power pole.
Live wires on two cars.
Backed the big truck out of there so they'll have room to work.
Probably won't get here till 5am.

 

Could be start of some adhesions and if so, probably fixable by not so involved surgery. My heart surgeon had to slip back in to get the connecting wire he did not bend flat. Very simple compared to the original. (Not to make light in any way, but it was warranty work. I nveer got a bill for admission, work, or discharge.)

 

Hard tain with a tornado warning here tonite thunder that shook the windows. I will be picking up tree branch’s tomorrow.

 

Darn good thing that the ol’ Doc didn’t look at you with a straight face and say he left his vice-grips in you during the surgery. See always a silver lining.
