Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Don’t blame you.. been there done that.. It certainly isn’t worth the peanuts they would throw for the amount of headaches it would cause.

 

Dropped my Bartlett load yesterday and got assigned a Volvo to Miami due Monday all day til 1500. I tried to turn it down because Im low on hrs and will be out of hrs when I get to Miami and need a 34 after and Im not doing a 34 down there. Nobody understood there is next to no parking there and got assigned anyway. Growled at my new DM and hung up on her. Terminal Manager tried to call and I stayed silent. Couldn’t get it dropped on Pooler yard cuz they are short drivers in the south and got 20 loads they couldn’t cover this weekend. Told em Ill be PCing out of south Florida then to the big Pilot across state in Ga to do a 34 like it or not. Wouldn’t have gotten angry if I had lots of hours to get in and out of there. Oh, well. At this point if they wanna fire me I don’t care. Guess they are filling the WM office again so I got a new DM that lives down there instead of the current one that lives in Richmond which sucks cuz the Richmond one is really good. Had to sign like a 100 pages of BOLs at Volvo for this load I swear.

 

Going to a Geodis Freight Forwarder. Must be a new lane cuz Ive never seen it before. Ive never had much luck in Fort Pierce, I always got there in the early afternoon too and was full all the time. Ill prob try there to just say I tried. Appt is 0900-1500 and Im shooting for when they open in the morning in case tgey take forever to unload.

 

Alright, thanks, didn’t know about that one. Florida is one of those places Ive almost always had terrible luck parking wise except some of the bigger rest areas.
