Dropped my Sandston Va load yesterday about noon. Went to the yard to get this check engine light issue addressed. Wound up replacing an EGR sensor. Found out our Director of Maintenance, Joe Jr quit. Don’t know the particulars, but he was there 15 years. I guess the big corporate model didn’t work for him anymore.

Just picked up a Jarratt Va Boars Head going to Groveport, then picking up a Boars Head Jupiter Florida for Tuesday. I’ll be home Monday afternoon, deliver Tuesday at noon, 12 miles from the house, then put this truck to bed for the next 3 weeks while my wife and I bounce around Greece.

Dropped my load from Miami this morning then found out my load wasn’t ready nor on the yard. Got asked to give a new driver a ride to the Duncan, SC drop place at AAA Cooper to get into a truck there. I agreed since it was adding additional miles to the Bartlett, TN load so Ill end up with 3k miles for this week, turned out better than I thought it would. Found the only empty on the yard that needed inspected though so got in the trailer shop to get that done and soon as they finish I get a text saying a local was bringing my load to the yard so I ended up putting the empty back on the yard after inspection. 14 caught up to me but got that driver to Duncan right at 0 min left so have to spend the night here. Hopefully not locked in here all weekend, lol!

Scored a Reno load. Got to the scale near El Reno and was open and they were chasing trucks down that decided to blow by it. Must have gotten fed up with ppl blowing by it and brought a few cars in there to give chase.

There’s always that one Boars Head distributor. And this one in Jupiter, 18 miles from my house is it. Been here about 8 times over the last 10 years and everytime it’s always a wait. 3 hours and counting. Just walked inside to see what the hold up was, and of course it’s the standard response, making room in the freezer. Then I mentioned that I live 18 miles south of here, and that I’ll just go home and come back tomorrow at 11:30. That wasn’t the right idea for them. Then I called into the office and explained to operations that if I was late, it’s the end of mankind. But for them to keep the truck alongside the building this long is ok. I also mentioned that if I do leave, to give whatever driver you find my phone number because I won’t be coming back with their freight. I truly despise this industry. I was always told growing up to watch what you pray for. Loosing this account is one of those prayers.
