I was very respectful and dress nice so I think he calmed down a little bit because of this. I can see the frustrations and understand this law as it makes sense to respect others on the road.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

Trying to keep this thread going.
My employer just got in a whole mess of trailers. Not a single one with aero or inflation systems.
With me running northern Indiana to KC, MO, the winds have been horrific, the last 3wks. I can feel it yanking on the trailer and can’t help but think how much fuel I’d be saving with skirts (I run light, so tandems always to the front). I burned 30gals more (7.0mpg vs 8.8mpg), Thursday and Friday, compared to prior to all the wind.
When I asked the shop about the lack of inflation systems, the manager said there were too many potential problems. He’s the same one who told me we don’t run disc brakes because he’s not sure of integration with drum brakes.
I feel like I’m walking amongst idiots.Another Canadian driver, Constant Learner, Speedy356 and 2 others Thank this. -
If you’re light and in strong wind your trailer will be more stable with your tandems back. That’s why you see so many light trailers with them all the way to the rear in strong wind. And for what it’s worth, I have a trailer with skirts and have barely gotten 6 the last 2 days running around the Midwest.

Well I took this week off to do some scheduled maintenance on the truck. I now have right at 150K on the truck and had the following done:
Volvo Premium Long-Life Coolant Filter (Replace) 150K
Valve Adjustment 150K
Fuel Tank Ventilation Filter 12 months
Aftertreatment Hydrocarbon Injector (AHI)
AHI nozzle and perform data reset. 150K
DEF, Pump and Tank Filler Neck Filter
Drain DEF tank, replace DEF pump main filter, clean DEF tank neck filter
150K
Power Steering Fluid and Filter (Replace) 150K
Air Dryer Coalescing Cartridge (Replace) 150K
PM Service
Ended up getting a little decent discount on getting it all done as well since I have a great relationship with the shop.
Here is some recent numbers on the Fuel. Notice I am getting more and more 9's. Now that I have the overhead done will start seeing what kind of numbers I get going into winter.Attached Files:

I got 5.98 from Faucett to Cheyenne running 75 the whole way in that nice wind yesterday, but I don’t really have time to slow down and make my delivery appointment.Another Canadian driver, ducnut and Siinman Thank this. -
On my old rental trailer I did the same thing running tandems all the way to the back of trailer. It did not have any skirts on it and hated the wind.Another Canadian driver, Long FLD and ducnut Thank this.
