It's always good to do a pre trip though fcc trailers have tire inflators so if the line is too long at one truck stop call ahead to another one and get checked in over the phone and you could drive a hour further to get it patched and get right in.

Update: trailer tire was an easy fix. One of the lines for the auto inflator went to hell, causing one of the tires to go flat overnight. Technician replaced the line and aired it back up with no issues.

Drive tire wasn’t as lucky. Somehow picked up a bolt in it, not sure where. Tire is gonna have to get replaced.

The only consolation is that the load I was supposed to pick up in Orrick, MO, is getting loaded by one of the KC local drivers and dropped in the ACT yard for me to pickup when I get there.

Also I had no idea that there was a Pomp’s here in Salina, just a few minutes from where I park my truck.

Speaking of tires, just starting a 34 here in Wytheville, need a full service PM and going to go ahead and replace my steers. I currently have Bridgestones (couldn’t find Michelin tires during the Pandemic) had her price both, and believe it or not the Michelin X lines are cheaper than the Bridgestones.

I learned in this industry that Michelin probably makes the best truck tires

They weren’t kidding when they said that diesel prices were to jump. Diesel is 5.35/gallon in my town. What’s interesting is the price of regular 87 gas has, at least in my area, stayed the same. In fact it’s gone down a little.
