Regarding the original post here -- there is NO WAY, NO WAY....to accurately/adequately describe this vehicle pricing issue -- and do so with conversation that is suitable for mixed company/viewers.

Thus -- I shall refrain from any further comments...

I wonder what it costs to insure a 120,000 dollar pickup.

You think about your home mortgage......
Let's say you bought a HOUSE for $158k on a 30 year mortgage. What would your payments be with taxes and insurance? Probably around $1200 a month for 30 FREEKIN YEARS!!!!
Unbelievable. I don't know how anyone could sell that vehicle with a straight face.

If you're driving anything other than a Toyota pickup, in my opinion you're doing it wrong. Those things are made to survive nuclear blasts.

They're literally designed for areas that don't have access to supplies. That's why you see freedom fighters in small countries riding around in Toyota pickups. They're awesome.

Now granted, I am not a pickup truck kind of guy. But you can best believe the Camry I'm buying next year is going to last me a while.

Foreign automakers have shown that their vehicles are more built for dependability long term than domestic automakers cars and trucks.. gm and ford keep scratching thier heads wondering why their vehicles don’t sell.. no one will pay what they charge for junk.. thats what ford and gm even Chrysler make..

That's exactly what me & the wife just settled on.
    I have a 2007 Ram 1500 4 wheel drive off road with 250,000 miles. I was looking around for a 3, 4 or 5 year old 3/4 ton or 1 ton. .
Wife has a 2008 Yukon with about 210,000 miles. She was looking for a 4, 5 or 6 year old (due to current prices) Yukon or similar vehicle.

We decided to keep ours. In our mid 60's, we'll keep these & do maintenance. I told her just take about $3000 & get all the things fixed we've been putting off, get in good shape & just keep it.
I had just spent about $3000 on mine so it was in top condition.

She found me a 1990 clean, clean little Chevy one ton. I bought it so, I'm good with that now. We're set until something in the car industry changes or we get too old to drive.

    To the car industry........ :bootyshake:
