Delivering 6-8 pallets of Ragu Spaghetti Sauce to a Walmart near Fayetteville. Foolishly thought that it wouldn't take long because it was less than half a truckload. Still here 1.5 hours later.

    Finfn1372, dwells40 and jarhead0311 Thank this.

I am so thankful my truck is now paid for. Honestly, if it were not so I’d probably have turned in my truck at the end of my lease and done something else. My guy in Charlotte has never seen this many drivers fall out because they just can’t make it. No doubt some of the attrition is due to lack of business acumen, but a big part of it is the current freight market.

Starting to remind me of 2008 again. I sold my truck and went back into the military to finish my 20 yrs then of course I got injured and ended up medically retired and back out here again. Used my GI Bill and got two degrees and hopefully leaving this industry behind soon even though I like this job but this industry has gone too far down the toilet.

Yeah its rough started to think when I was home,if it was even worth coming back out for a couple days, but I guess a 1000 miles is a 1000 miles.

Thanksgiving is this coming Thursday, so most receivers are going to be shut down for a day or two (or four). Not surprising that freight is light.

I dropped an empty at the Walmart DC in Ridgeville, SC yesterday, did not get a load until this morning, and it's a Walmart load from Ridgeville going to Mount Crawford. Doesnt' deliver until Wednesday, and I'll be there today around 4:00pm. So there's a 34 hour reset I don't need built in.

Coulda left off picking it up until tomorrow, and then I coulda tried for two days of layover instead of just one. But I was tired of Wendy's, so I figured I'd do a little driving today and put in for one day of layover when the load is finished.

    jarhead0311 and Finfn1372 Thank this.
