WOW! That IS great! In a little over 4 1/2 months I have grossed just over 11000 as per my w-2. I stay out only 2 weeks at a time and I suppose that to make the kind of money your hubby makes I would have to stay on the road for longer periods. I can't stay away from my family for that much time and justify it for the small amount of miles that I get. If I could get more miles then I would stay out longer and sacrifice my family to provide a better life for them, but to stay out for a month and only get 1400-1800 miles per week in the national fleet just can't be rationalized.
By the way, I am sorry for the typo in my previous statement. I was aware that the thread was started on 4/22/06 and I made a mistake.
Thanks for your interest in this and I wish the best to you and your husband

Have you looked into their 7 on/7 off program? Road Dog seems to be doing pretty good with that.

Road Dog....I just finished my classroom part of school, and have two weeks of driving and backing practice in the yard to go, but I got a pre-hire from Roehl and things are looking good to hire on with them so far. I only live about 40 miles from the Gary terminal (South Bend, IN) so I'll be out of there for sure, but I saw that you're out of a drop yard in Akron. I grew up in Wooster, OH not far from there. Was curious where you live. Maybe I'll run to that yard sometime.

A guy who worked for them told me that some guy walks around and tells you if your truck is too dirty and if you have to wash it. Or something to that effect. Think he complains about any dents on your truck to. Im not really sure cause it was a while back when he told me this and I dont remember everything.

Wow. If I could afford to work any less then I would consider 7/7. But if I only have made 11000 in 5 months I would be afraid of working "part time" and try to support my family.

Bbqribs,I live about 85 miles NE of Akron. The villiage of N.Kingsville, right on Lake Erie and about 8 mi.from the PA.line.Just got my W2 today,$9460. for 8 weeks on the road. Not too bad for what is actually a part time job.So a full year would get me about $28380.I am of retirement age and am doing this to pay off some medical bills. If I was raising a family it would not do.

Road dog - how do you figure only 28k?

I see 9400 in 8 weeks as close to 50KI per year?

Your figures are so much higher and better than anyone else that has offered a figure to me. Wow. I have worked there for 5 months and my w-2 shows only 11000. I run national and stay out for 14 days at a time. I guess I am in the wrong terminal or something. I am happy for all of you. I wish that my earnings were that good. My 2200-2600 miles per week that was told to me has turned into 1300-1800 per week.

Homeboy, what terminal do you run out of? My husband is out of Ellenwood, Ga. He is about to become a trainer just waiting to hear when he has to go for orientation. Then he will be out of Marshfield.
