That's just a big 'ol tot mashed down. What's up with all the tot hate?

 

Beats me. Guess I will just claim strong personal preference

 

Many times I've had tots that were baked in the oven. No butter or oils added. I'm kinda indifferent to the baked ones. Keep a sack of them in the freezer and bake them up when the wife requests them. May hit the next batch with some butter before baking to see how that works out.

Hash-browns are typically fried. Tots off the roach Coaches may be deep fried. The cooking oil/butter adds to the flavor making them more enjoyable for me.

 

Air fryer does them quick.

 

I'm still old-school just run the toaster oven on broiler setting if I want to "air fry".

Chilli cheese tots from the sonic are pretty disgusting looking but they taste mighty fine

 

Just fixed this. Not bad. Didn't have motzarella so used sharp cheddar.
