    There appears to be trouble on tge railroad tracks. Train went west then slowed to a stop. Now backing up east real slow. Swift is probly at fault somehow.

    Let's go the logic approach then.

    On average, Per Motly Fool, McD's corporate only owns 18% of the outlets with the balance being owned as franchises.

    I could see McD's Corporate shutting down some of the Cali locations that they have not sold to a franchise.

    I doubt that McD's corporate has the financial resources to buy out all the franchises in Cali just to shut them down.

    Just like gas stations the ones that are run by competent people will raise their prices to cover the increased cost of labor. Then just throw a sign or 2 around saying "Because of the minimum wage laws in California we are unable to follow the national pricing guides".

    My bet is some of the marginally profitable franchises will close, sell, or relocate to a better location. Has happened in the past. Will happen in the future.
